Questions?

Why can’t I open my Plum Journal?  Click on the cover, the journal will open automatically.  This will also turn any page you have not typed on.

Why won’t the page turn?  Click on Save Button after you have finished typing and the page turns.

How do I get to the photo section?  Click on the Go to Last Page button and then go back 3 pages.  You will see the photo holders.

Can I change the font or type color?  Unfortunately not – they are set with the book.

I changed my attitude and want to remove something.  Can I?  Yes, until you have permanently locked the page or the book, you have options!

I emailed the journal to my mom and she can’t open it. Why?  She needs to also have the DNL reader but the email will prompt her.  Also, her firewall may be blocking something.  Usually, if you give permission, these things work out.  The reason we have chosen the DNL system is that it has proven to be consistently safe in millions of computers.

How can I save my Plum Journal™ to a flash drive?
1. Download the Plum Journal™ to the flash drive.
*Please note:If you download the Journal into your computer instead of your flash drive that’s where it will live; you will not be able to copy it onto your flash drive later.*
2. Download the DNL Reader™ to the flash drive here.
3. Double click the Plum Journal™ on the USB drive and start the activation process. When the activation window appears, check the box: Activate on USB Drive.
4. Press Activate or Next to activate your Journal.

*If the USB drive cannot be used because it does not meet the hardware requirements, the system will tell you before it tries to activate. If this is the case, please try another brand of USB drive.

I downloaded my journal onto my flash drive, but it won't open. What happened?  You need to copy the DNL Reader onto your flash drive as well. Then the journal will open.

MAC Questions:
DNL Reader just became available for MAC’s in May, 2009.  It’s still a bit more involved than downloading to a PC, but it only takes a couple of minutes rather than a couple of seconds.
When I click to install, I get a lot of options.  Do I need to install all of this?  Probably not, but the program thinks you do, so it’s better to just go with the flow.  This program takes up virtually no space even with the add-ons.

I keep getting an exe. file that I can't open – why?  For some reason Safari doesn’t like the DNL Reader™.  Using Firefox or Opera quickly solves the problem.

Why is it that when I start the download, I am asked to okay the downloading of fonts I already have? We aren’t for sure and it doesn’t always happen.  It doesn’t hurt anything, it’s just annoying. Just say YES!

Why do I have a little white box in the upper left corner that says Bash?  We don’t know this either, it is related to the Wine download, but we all use MACS and ignored it and the DNL Reader™ installed fine.

Why is it more complicated to download to a MAC?  Karen personally blames Bill Gates – other than that, it’s just different technology.

To view Plum Journals™ you'll need to download the DNL Reader. It's small, quick, and free.
