ABOUT THE DNL READER:

For over 7 years the DNL Reader™ has had an absolutely clean bill of health. It has been featured in major IT publications the world over.
The DNL Reader™ has now become a standard in the eBook industry.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
PC USERS: The mini-program that turns the pages and helps your Plum Journals™ function is called DNL Reader™. It is very similar to Adobe Reader™, the program that reads PDF files. DNL Reader™ is tiny, virus-free and downloads in about two seconds (really).To get DNL Reader™, click on the purple icon below that says, "Get DNL Reader." It automatically downloads. Your specific computer may ask for verification or if you have a virus-protection program, it may offer a default warning. If so, allow the program to download.
Once installed, your Plum Journals™ are ready to read, use, save, email, or archive. To write in your Plum Journal™, follow the directions in the first few pages of each book (or here).
*Please note that the DNL Reader™ is not supported by Linux™.*
MAC USERS: The mini-program that turns the pages and helps your Plum Journals™ function is called DNL Reader™. It is very similar to Adobe Reader™, the program that reads PDF files. DNL Reader™ is tiny and virus-free. MAC REQUIREMENTS: Intel-based Macs: MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac "Core Duo", Mac "Mini-Core."
Please note that Mac Power PC’s (PPC’s) are not supported. The quickest way to determine the type of processor in your Mac: from the Finder, choose “About This Mac” from the Apple menu. Look at the Processor line to see which kind of processor is in your Mac.
*Please note that Safari does not support the download of the DNL Reader™. Firefox and Opera are fully supported.*
To get DNL Reader™, click on the purple icon below that says, "Get DNL Reader." It automatically downloads. Your specific computer may ask for verification or if you have a virus-protection program, it may offer a default warning. If so, allow the program to download. Secondly, to enable the program, you may be prompted to add a secondary application called "Wine." Follow the directions allowing Wine to be enabled.
Once you download the DNL Reader™ (ReaderInstaller.dmg), the installation instructions are clearly displayed by the installer. The installation process may require the user to click "Yes" or "I agree" to individual plugin installers. Once installed, your Plum Journals are ready to read, use, save, email or archive. To write in your Plum Journal, follow the directions in the first few pages of each book (or here).
You will only need to download this file once unless an update becomes available in the future.
INSTALL DNL READER: To install the DNL Reader™, click on the purple 'Get DNL Reader' icon above and either 'Run' the file or ‘Save’ the file to your hard drive (taking a note of where you save it). If you save it, when it finishes downloading, open the file by double-clicking. If you wish to save the file to a flash drive see below. You have successfully installed the DNL Reader™ and will be able to view any DNL files you download from the internet.
With the DNL Reader™ installed, DNL files will open on PC’s and Intel-Based Macs.TO SAVE TO A FLASH DRIVE: To keep your journal private and/or to be mobile, you can optionally save the Plum Journal™ to most USB flash drives instead of a single main computer. This means that you can use the Plum Journal™ on any single computer with this USB drive plugged in.
To use this function..
1. Download the Journal to the flash drive.
*Please note:If you download the Journal into your computer instead of your flash drive that’s where it will live; you will not be able to copy it onto your flash drive later.*
2. Download the DNL Reader™ to the flash drive here.
3. Double click the Plum Journal™ on the USB drive and start the activation process. When the activation window appears, check the box: Activate on USB Drive. Then copy and paste your activation key into the box.
4. Press Activate or Next to activate your Journal.
*If the USB drive cannot be used because it does not meet the hardware requirements, the system will tell you before it tries to activate. If this is the case, please try another brand of USB drive.
